Gina Rodgers Goes Neutral!

Many of our design team has participated in a color palette challenge online.

We showed you some of the challenge results in our newsletter and would love to show you more.
Here's a beautiful submission from Gina Rodgers!

Color Palette for Challenge

Hello, did you join in with the Play Date challenge? What a lovely lot of inspiration from the JBS DT and Ambassadors during the week...I'd like to also share my take on the challenge today..

for the background of this page I firstly added some gesso with a palette knife and once dry placed the exclusive stencil over it and created the pattern using a weather vane paint dabber

How cool are the new flatbacks range? I've used one from the 'icons' set along with a piece of the packaging behind the photo for contrast..

the other new release stamp is from the 'dictionary' set and I've just inked up a small amount of the text stamp and pushed it down with my finger rather than using a stamp block..

thanks for stopping by and happy creating!

May Flaum and the Quilt Star Punch

May Flaum here to do some creative frolicking with my new favorite Fiskars/Jenni Bowlin punch, a cool stencil, and the Modern Mercantile Papers too.

What i really love about this punch is that it can be used alone, or it is great in a group as well. You can see I used it to make a sort of grid to place under my title, and also under my buttons for added interest and almost a sunburst like feel.

My stenciling was done with ink and a bit of foam to rub it - I love the color I can get this way. I'm also loving the Jenni Bowlin Paper Tapes - which I've used for the first time here on this layout!

I hope you can make some time for a creative frolic soon - it sure is fun to ink, stamp, and play!

Jenni Hufford : Spring Chicks

Happy Wednesday everyone!  It's Jenni Hufford here and I wanted to share a fun layout I made about our recent venture--- owning chickens!

I created a basic grid-- and of course had to add that rooster card and falt back!  The feather tags also went perfectly with my spring chick theme.

Adding pieces from the Modern Mercantile Hodge Podge Page as the base of my grid pieces. I placed them in a triangle shape.   The remaining spots I used "non square" items to add a different feel to the grid.

In one of the spaces I used the Quilt Star Punch and created a grid within a grid.

Thanks for stopping by today!

We just adore Tina Walker's layouts about her sweet 4-legged friends.  Her latest layout uses a variety of Jenni Bowlin Studio product in neutral colors.  Her photo is repeated for impact and backed with the bright colors of two of our new Paper Tape designs.

More Artsy with Louise

Louise Nelson just amazes us with her artsy look.  Although her layouts look so casually done, there is artistic intention in everything she does.

The little details of this layout are amazing!  Can you see:

* a Fortune Telling Vintage Mini Deck card acting as a photo mat?
*a single Flatback sporting a star sticker?
* a marachino Pearl Flower surrounding a vintage sequin?

So much to see in this layout! Thank you Louise for the artsy inspiration and wonderful details!

Getting Artsy with Louise Nelson

Louise Nelson has a style all her own.  We're going to feature a few of her layouts this week to inspire!

Hello Hello :)

.............so what is 'Not to Love' about Lisa Dickinson's fabulous new paper range Modern Mercantile for Jenni Bowlin Studio.

Today I would like to share with you one of the layouts I created both the Modern Mercantile papers and a Star stencil.

To create the star pattern on the patterned paper background I used 2 different mediums; first I used a gold Copic marker with an airbrush, and then some fabulous 'seed packet' JBS paint in a micro mister.

Cheers and Happy JBS scrapping!

Louise :) xx

Modern Mercantile Chevron Love

One of the most popular patterns in the new Modern Mercantile line is the Sundries Sheet with a whimsical and pretty chevron print.

Amanda Jones loves this pattern too!  She explains just why and shows us a great layout in this post!

There are lots of things to love about the Modern Mercantile collection but one of my favourite things is the fun chevron paper!

I trimmed a section of the chevron paper to add across the bottom of my layout. The best part is, with the great mix of patterns, I can trim a similar section for another page and it will look entirely different.

I clustered the rest of my elements above the chevron and then echoed the pattern above with a few hand-cut triangles. I love this collection and can't wait to find more ways to use those chevrons!

Happy Scrapping!

Thank you Amanda!
