What an awesome month for creative shares!!! I so so love the brief 'Get Messy'! Like I would say no LOL :)

With the layout I am sharing with you today I have used heaps of glorious product from Jenni BowlinStudio! all the information is listed at the bottom of the blog post :).

To create my background I used one of the awesome Dina Wakley's masks; the 12 x 12 Boulders stencil. I have sprayed the stencil with both a white and grey mist and then stamped the mask on to the cardstock background, its as simple as that!!!!!

I have added extra splats of colour with Jenni Bowlin paints; which I applied with a small soft bristle paint brush :)

Aaaaaaand so would you like to know fabulous Jenni Bowlin Studio products I used???

These flatbacks are sooooo TDF!!!! :)

What is not to love about these?!!!!!! :)

 I have also used some of the fabulous JBS sequins and black adhesive rhinestone stars

A Card for Jenni from Louise

Tag Me!

Are you enjoying all the wonderful inspiration from the DT and Ambassadors?? I know I am :) :) :)

Today I would like to share with you some large tags that I made that can be used as either a gift tag or as a tag card. However if I was going to use them as a card I would add another kraft tag on the back to allow for writing of my message/sentiment :)

The base of these tags is Kraft card stock and the patterned paper range I have used is the current new release JBS Christmas 2012 range  :) 

As you can see from these pictures of the tags I have complimented the christmas range of patterned papers with many of the JBS embellishments, journal and alphabet stickers. And a little touch of rustic with the natural colored string :) The green paint is the fabulous JBS 'Seed Packet' :)

Just for something a little bit different I have created a burlap/hessian envelope for the tags. I thought this would be a fun rustic take on the card and envelope theme for Festive Card giving :) I have kept the decoration of the burlap envelope very simple but you are only limited by your imagination so go for it :)

Scrap Vintage : Memories

I must confess I find it hard to use vintage items and ephemera in my creating, not because I cant, it is more a case of not wanting to ruin some thing that is pretty amazing in its own right! So I could be accused of being a hoarder of all things vintage, and old! ....that includes all the wonderful items that Jenni finds and includes in the amazing Antiquarian Kits! 

So I have [grudgingly ....joke :)] used mostly vintage and found items from past Jenni Bowlin Studio Antiquarian kits, with the odd fabulous new release embellishment and quite possible you might spy an embellishment from an older range :) :) :)

For this particular layout I have used a vintage photo [credit The Whatevers] and used a fun mix of both vintage findings and old and new release embellishments. the black ground splash of green was made using the delicious paint Seed Packet.

Again I have used a vintage photo [credit The Whatevers], but kept it light and fresh with using the fabulous Die-cut Bank Statement paper as a background and a fresh color palette; the paint is the divine Chili Powder.

This final layout is created using a contemporary photo and a play on words from the actual book page background. I thought it was a fabulous contrast with using the title 'A little field, I'd like to have a little field', with a photo representing me living in the 'concrete jungle'. The picture of a little cottage under a tree completes the contrast perfectly.

Sooooo as you can see I have well and truly overcome my fear of using wonderful vintage items and ephemera in my creativity, I do hope you have as much fun as I did! :)

Back to School - Science :)

Today I would like to share with you I layout that I created using nearly all JBS goodness [and yes some of it is from my stash from awhile back so its a lil vintage sts LOL :)]. The inspiration for this layout comes from a TV show that I used to watch when I was younger [in the days of black and white TV and probably before some of you were born LOL] Here is a link >>>> Why is it so?

"....the ground-breaking TV series with the enigmatic Professor Julius Sumner Miller - ran on the ABC from 1963 to 1986. Professor Miller's infectious enthusiasm for physics delighted, educated and entertained generations of Australians, most of whom have at some point asked each other 'Why is it so?' in the characteristic Julius Sumner Miller voice."

I absolutely loved this show, so when it came to inspiration for a layout based on a School subject I just had to use this childhood memory as inspiration! :) :) :)

I have used the name of the TV series as inspiration for my title and how it relates to the photo is; this photo is an instagram photo that I took of me 'stepping out' on the first fabulous sunny day we had with the change of seasons; it is spring here in Australia. So my thoughts were when creating this layout;

JBS Summer Games - Tennis & Pole Vaulting

Hi everyone!  Waleska used a sketch for a tennis court as inspiration for her grid-style layout below ...

Inspired by the center service court section of the diagram I created a grid background. I used JBS perforated marks stamp, which I then stitched and filled with patterned papers from the Wren line and other stickers.

Are you loving the amazing JBS Summer Games Inspiration from the Team? I am!!

Today I want to share with you a layout I did based on the event Pole Vaulting. Initially I was going to do take a segmental approach and do lots of pattern paper piecing, but as you can see I changed my mind LOL :)

What I did was cut the card stock background up into pieces in the same pattern/design of the bar that the pole vaulters vault over! I then adhered it to another sheet of card stock and then machine stitched it down. as you can see in the below picture :).

I finished the layout using a variety of Jenni Bowlin Studio tags, rub-ons, stickers and embellishments. I also added a few extra splats of Fountain ink paint.
