Guest Star Alexa Gill and the Red/Black Extension IV

Today we have a fabulous post to share from Guest Designer Alexa Gill featuring our Red/Black Extension IV Collection.  Here's a bit more about Alexa and you can see more of her work on her blog, Curlywiggles.

Alexa is a 20-something girl who lives on the south coast of England in a city by the sea. She spends most of her free time wearing navy blue, scrapbooking, day dreaming, getting lost in stories, taking pictures, drinking chocolate milkshake, avoiding wearing socks, or going on adventures. She has been published in The Scrapbook Magazine, Scrapbook Inspirations and Entre Artistes. I took an evening course at college this past term called 'Exploring Typography' and this line was perfect for documenting it! To create the alphabet pattern on the first page I used the Days of the Week stamp by inking individual letters with versamark ink and stamping onto the kraft cardstock.

Jenni's packaging is so beautifully designed I hoard it even when I've used all the embellishments that it was originally housing! Here I managed to work into my page the left over backing of some rhinestone buttons by layering some pattern paper, a doily flower and a decorative brad on top of it.

I turned 29 last November so this page is about my feelings on this year being the last of my twenties. The Large Dot is my favourite pattern in the JBS Core'dinations line. I really love to use the reverse side as a background paper for some subtle texture, but for this page I wanted to try something a little different. To highlight the pattern I sewed around some of the dots with embroidery thread. I used a punch with the mini pattern sheet to create frames for my photos.

Last summer I went on holiday to Germany and whilst there we took a day trip to visit Salzburg in Austria. It's the birthplace of Mozart and they are very proud of this, he is everywhere! And you can buy pretty much anything you want with his face on it. To fit the theme I used a vintage music sheet for my background paper and I added some colour by covering a mask in JBS ink and stamping it directly onto the paper. I hate to throw any scraps of paper away so I used all of my leftovers to make a border around the page.

Guest Star Larissa Labernaz!

My name is Larissa Albernaz. I have been scrapbooking for almost six years and I´m totally addicted which means I see artistic possibilities over everything around me. Every day I enjoy perceiving the colors in my surroundings and I pay close attention to my inner emotions even if it’s to throw them out only on a layout. Through the years, scrapbooking has provided me a great sort of artistic possibilities. It allows me to express myself in style, mixing papers, embellishments, colors, memories and a message. So, scrapbooking to me is not only a way to preserve my memories, but it's the way I do Art. In making Art I pursue something that has sense to me, which inspires me and that can be different, interesting, cute, creative, colorful and fun! My style is eclectic and crafty. I also love shabby and vintage styles, and anything that has a great dimension.

My blog - recently moved to : http://www.lariscrap.typepad.com

What an amazingly vivid style! One of the things I love about Lariss's work with Jenni Bowlin Studio is how effortlessly she has mixed our newest available release, "Haven," with some of Jenni's older product. Well done Larissa! Thanks so much for the inspiration!

Guest Star May Flaum!

I am a long time fan of Jenni Bowlin and her products – and the reason is simply that they work. I can mix and match with bits of fabric and vintage ephemera, it blends well with other brands, and it never goes out of style. I find myself using pieces that are five years old – and JBS stuff never gets thrown out! I’m absolutely loving this newest release (no big surprise there!) and I’ve crafted some new projects to share with you today.

This layout combines two of the new stamps along with just a bit of cardstock and felt and new JBS goodies too. I love those calendar journaling papers – so great to add a date onto a page in a decorative way. I just circled the date the photo was taken!

I love adding in stitching, fabrics, and doilies especially when I’m working with JBS products. I mixed in an older rub-on with some of the newer papers and goodies for this simple and fast layered thank you card. A little bit of white stitching and I’m ready to send off a lovely (heartfelt) thank you to someone special.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my projects!

May is a long-time crafter, author, and instructor. When she’s not teaching scrapbooking classes at Big Picture, she can be found writing for Scrapbook Update, dreaming up new creative projects, reading a romance novel, or spending time outside with her family. Her blog is at www.mayflaum.com.

Guest Star Jeri Swenson!

It's time to welcome another guest star here on the Jenni Bowlin Studio Blog! Welcome Jeri Swenson!

Hi my name is Jeri Swenson. I am a stay at home mom to 4 great kids. I have been married to my best friend and partner in crime for 13 years in July. We reside in one of the most beautiful state i have ever been to N. Utah. I have been crafting in one way or another since i was little. My mother was and avid crafter and she let me help all the time. I made my first scrapbook 23 years ago, when my oldest son was born...it included calligraphy titles on blue parchment and pictures cut with decorative scissors. Needless to say i was pleased when i went into my first Roberts store and there were stickers and 8.5 x 11 paper to purchase that was 14 years ago and i have been obsessed ever since. I was so grateful to be asked to be a quest on the Jenni Bowlin Design Team..her style is my style. I love to rummage through thrift stores and yard sales to find the most unusual things. I love to use paper bags, twine, old newspapers and magazines. Thanks again it was a pleasure to work with Jenni's product.
Thanks so much for the inspiration Jeri! Vintage looks ever so lovely on you! :)

Guest Star Sarah Jane Dowsett!

Today we welcome Sarah Jane Dowsett to the blog!  Welcome SJ!

SJ really has mad stamping skills, doesn't she? We love the way she's created her own patterned paper with the new Cabbage Flower Stamp. And how clever is she to "thread" her pearl button with a permanent marker?

This next layout featuring the new "Haven" line has such a lovely serenity about it. Gorgeous!

Thanks for the inspiration SJ!
