Mindy Miller Inspired by Jenni Bowlin

When I think of Jenni Bowlin I think of fun vintage touches, great use of white space, and just the right embellishments. Jenni has a way of bringing it all together and making it look effortless.

I thought I would try my hand at combining those design elements to create Halloween cards.

I used the new Weather Vane paint dabber with the Borders 1 foam stamps to create a decorative border along the edge of the card. Then I laced a variety of JBS buttons and embellishments on a piece of fiber and wrapped it around the card.

Here's another take on the same concept.

There's still time to make Halloween cards, so get out your JBS embellishments. Here's a complete list of the supplies I used:

Borders 1 foam stamps
Weather Vane ink dabber
Vintage Halloween chipboard buttons
Mini chipboard stars
Rhinestone decorative brads
Numbered decorative brads
Black doily flowers
Orange vintage sew-on buttons

Happy crafting!

Strips and Stripes and More!

Here are more  creative ways to use our Be Our Guest patterned cardstock!

Strips and Stripes:

Celeste cut strips in different widths from Game Night, Home Sweet Home,  and Sewing Room.  A label, Be My Guest Journaling Card, and cardboard star and button are the perfect little accents.  A sweet spray of Fountain Pen re-inker in a mister finishes it off.

Lisa created another striking background for her layout by weaving strips of our Be Our Guest cardstock together.  Her title is accented with a hat pin and a Flag Banner sticker.

And More:

Harumi Hagiwara created this beauty!  She used a border punch on the Tea Towel cardstock and layered it over the Sewing Room cardstock.  The Game Night cardstock is beautifully highlighted inside a Mini Die Cut Label.  A piece of the Circle Die-Cut actually hangs over the edge of the layout.  The little circle in the Journaling Card is perfect for a little photo as Harumi did here.

And take a look at this!

Harumi used the Classic Ribbon embellishment in quite a creative way! She removed the "ribbon tails" from the embellishment to create a sweet rosette:

These little embellishments are alterable.  You can change the position of the ribbon tails.  And if you cut the back end off the ribbon center, you can remove the ribbon tails as Harumi did!

One embellishment . . . two ways . . . three color choices!
